Our scripture this Sunday is Luke 24:13-35, the story of Jesus’s appearance on the road to Emmaus and in the breaking of bread.  We will be emphasizing the spiritual revelations and wonders that happen outside—miracles under the stars.

Our scripture this Sunday is John 20:19-31.  It picks up immediately where we left off last week on Easter. We will acknowledge that Jesus’ crucifixion didn’t immediately change the systems that led to his death.  As we experience this “mini Pentecost” (as told by John) and as we celebrate Earth Day, what do we notice that has changed?  What is different?  How has Easter altered us?

This Sunday is Easter!  Our scripture this Sunday is John 19:38-20:18.  It begins with Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus burying Jesus and continues through Mary Magdalene’s encounter with him in the garden.  It is Resurrection Sunday.  And we will approach resurrection as opening our hearts.

Our scripture this Sunday is John 12.  It is the crucial chapter between the raising of Lazarus/Sanhedrin’s decision to put Jesus to death in John 11 and the washing of the Disciples’ feet/Last Supper in John 13.

John 11:1-45

This Sunday, we continue in John’s gospel with the story of Jesus raising Lazarus.  In light of this story, we continue our Lenten theme of Belovedness and how our belovedness calls us out and unbinds us.  We are not left alone to live shallowly in the shadows.  We are called into life-giving transformation and great awareness of the power and possibilities of deeply living.
